Rosecrans Memorial Airport is proud to serve as Stop 7 of 9 in the 2026 Women’s Air Race Classic from June 23 to 26, the nation’s premier all‑women cross‑country air race and the modern continuation of the storied 1929 Women’s Air Derby. Each year, this event brings together pilots from every corner of aviation; students, instructors, airline captains, engineers, veterans, and first‑time racers; all demonstrating the skill, precision, and determination that define women in flight.

As a mid‑race timing point, St Joseph becomes a critical strategic stop as teams navigate more than 2,400 miles under VFR. Because this is a true air race, there is no fixed schedule, but based on the route and pacing, we anticipate the earliest racers arriving Wednesday afternoon, with the largest wave expected on Thursday, 25 June, and the final groups passing through early Friday. Each team will execute a high‑speed flyby through the timing line before deciding whether to continue on or land for fuel, rest, or an overnight stay.
